Jacket, Flying, Man´s
Heavy
Attached Hood -N2B-this is the genuine name of the
USAF-arctic flight-jacket, pilots and flight crews were supplied with in the 70s.
The new jet generation at the end of
the 60´s with an increase of performance in speed and flight levels includes extreme
temperatures for the aircrafts and their flight crews,
up to -60 Grad C.
It was necessary to develop lightweight but sturdy and warm jackets,
as replacement for the
B3 bomber jacket.
So the N2B-arctic-jacket was
developed.
Special characteristic of all N2B-arctic-flight-jackets is the
hood (synthetic coyote fur trim).
Divised by a zipper both halves of the hood isolate excellently against icy temperatures
while lying over the shoulder.
Additionally each hood half can be fixed by a press button.
If you pull the hood over your head the frontpart with the fur (we only use artificial
fur) can be tied up to a small sight.
The opening is adjustable by the draw-string (same feature as the N3B-snorkel-parka). The
inner part of the hood is supplied with teddy-lining.
And besides, the hood is not bulky with completely opened zip on the back -perfectly
suited for sitting positions close together in a military aircraft. |

Here
we offer our mufti
N2B- arctic-flight-jacket for "daily use".
It is even worked up more sturdily than the MA1-jackets according
to processing and quality of the material.
In cut and structure it is manufactured complying with the
military pattern.
For example, we also use a nylon fibre -no poly- for the outer shell and the lining of
the jacket.
Nylon fibres are nearly indestructible.
The inner lining also is sewn up and not simply put in.
The (inner) lining fibre, which is made out of microscopic small hollow blocks, effects extreme isolation. Because the fibre is additionally worked
up with silicone, no humidity can be absorbed through capillaries
effects.
-promises the highest
protection against cold,
whilst still washable-
For only dry clothing keeps
warm.
With the front zipper (in XL-size) the jacket closes safely up to the hood.
The additional storm flap is buttoned up but
you will be able to button up the strom flap with heavy gloves. The waistbands oft he
sleeves and waist form the air-tight finish to the external world. An arm office, two
outer lockable pockets, as well as two inner pockets offer enough storage space for the
essential things of life.
Another appetizer...
The military N2B- arctic-jacket
is not available anymore these days, and therefore an absolute rarity.
Even the original, made in USA N2B-jackets are hardly available.
Productions by known
producers from the USA are not offered any more (to our knowledge).
At best single components from the USA are still available
-at the worst only the label. Now and then we have
jackets out of American stocks which were truly manufactured after military norms in the
USA.
Certainly these top-grade
and excellent products belong to another price level, for they are in stocks for more than
20 years
but in absolutely new condition.
These N2B can be ordered on demand, if available.
